• Make sure the printer is on without errors

If you see the LCD screen display blank or off it means that is either in sleep mode or it is off. You can check this by pressing the printer’s power-on button. Also, check all the plugs before you start hitting the buttons on the printer. Multiple and simultaneous button clicks can cause errors. If the screen shows any errors like paper jam, low ink, empty toner, etc. then you must reset them and refill them. 


• Make sure that the printer is ready to print

To know this, go to the printer properties where you will see the option of how to operate the printer such as configuring ports or the hardware-related customizations. You can further follow the given steps to check:

  • Go to the control panel by clicking on start.
  • Tap on hardware and sound option. Click on devices and printers. 
  • Make a right-click on brother printer and select printer properties.

• Keep track of the IP address of your brother printer
